School Psychologist -- Child Study Team: Home

Resources for Tabernacle Families

A Child Study Team (CST) is a group of three professionals who evaluate children for special education services. The basic CST consists of a school psychologist, a learning disabilities/teacher-consultant, school social worker, and (for preschool students) a speech-language specialist.

CST members also provide ongoing services for students after educational classifications are designated.  As a student's case manager individual CST members are responsible for overseeing their educational program.

Who are School Psychologists?

School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. https://www.nasponline.org/about-school-psychology/who-are-school-psychologists
